I first stumbled across barbecue in 2013. I had been cooking a lot of Asian street food and wanted to learn about Mexican. Once I started researching, I then obviously discovered Tex-Mex and then barbecue. I went out and bought a smoker and haven’t looked back.
I began competition BBQ in 2016 on the team The Smoking Joint and in 2018 formed Smoke & Steel with Jesse Donnaruma. It’s been a wild ride since then!
I love experimenting with Asian flavors and barbecue, making all sorts of different dishes and recipes. I have a huge list of things I want to cook and it’s always evolving. I also love having friends and family over and making a big barbecue platter.
